Time for the monthly update.

Went to Las Vegas with the Best Friend. Five days, multiple free shows, and walking until my legs ached---probably about 5 miles a day, average. BF contracted strep throat, probably from me, although I remain asymptomatic. Dr. Lisa from my London trip and Raven from the BIMC also contracted strep after contact with me, but I remain disturbingly healthy.

Best show was the water show at the Bellagio. The best stuff was probably the Hard Rock Cafe and Hotel, where Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue and Matt from Guns and Roses had their Harleys, and Jimi Hendrix's cape and a burned Stratocaster were displayed among other cool things. The Harley-Davidson Cafe would have won, as they had the whole 2004 Harley line suspended on a chain drive system that circulated the restaurant, and the original Easyrider (that Peter Fonda rode)...but they misspelled the designation on the placard on the Sportster, and you weren't allowed to take pictures with the Easyrider. Both inexcuseable.

The reason we went was to witness Shiela and Butch's wedding, which was appropriately done. As Tony said, "We set out to do it, and we got it done." No real bachelor party, although we tried to convince the bride we bought Butch a couple of strippers. The bride, of course was radiantly beautiful, and we all chipped in to get them a gondola ride at the Venetian, post ceremony.

I rate this trip a 7.9, due to strep, and overstimulation.

Other news:

Work continues, and I continue to be hammered with bureaucracy and we're STILL not done with the site reviews. My clients are doing good work in spite of the fact I spend less time with them.

Home/Roomate are doing well. The Seneschal got my fireplace checked and going, got gainful employment, and keeps to herself most of the time. She took Phaedrus in to get his teeth cleaned and a chip installed in his neck, in case he gets lost. She tried to do this with Ten Mae, but she bloodied her and successfully fought with such tenacity, that she was not taken to the vet. I'm pleased with her for fighting that hard, but she needs to go to the vet eventually.

Speaking of medical, Dr. Lisa and Nick are both in the hospital for various surgeries---much of my healing thoughts have been with them. You read this, send a prayer, will ya?

My karate-do continues to be a focus of my life. I have been, except for Vegas, at least 3-5 times a week. I need to work on combinations/reverses, and the subtleties of my katas. I need to get the SCA armor out and practice a bit, too.

I've gotten the Harley out a bit this year, so far, mostly with Raven. Logged about 250 miles so far. Not much, but more than usual by this time in the season. My mental health = miles logged. :>

Spiritually, I've started a Quabalistic Tarot Class with some friends, taught by my Grandmother. Let's see if I can make some sense out of the order of the Universe, shall we?
