101/1001 Update

“If you always put limits on what you can do, physical or anything else, it’ll spread over into the rest of your life. It’ll spread into your work, into your morality, into your entire being. There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you. A man must constantly exceed his level.” - Bruce Lee

Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I've been knocking out extra sets of 50 pushups and sets of 10 burpees to prepare for the GoRuck workout this week. I've written and sent two of four letters for the February Goruck Challenge. The book to be read (A Warrior’s Creed, by Roger Sparks) is sitting in the mailbox at Base Station. I finally received my replacement January patch and slapped it on my ruck, and I also got February's patch in the mail for when I complete the requirements.

Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm continuing training mindfulness with my eating patterns. I'm continuing to meditate daily this month. I have finished rereading Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom, and so I have read 10 books on Psychology-related topics, completing that goal. I replaced that goal with reading another ten.

The Old Man has been at the Staging Area for a week, and will likely stay a few days longer. I am managing his incisions which have become infected from his broken stitches because of postponed medical care due to the Snowpocalypse. Fortunately, at his appointment, he was able to get on an antibiotic. However, it looks like he will need more surgery, maybe as early as next week.

Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: I've attended a few short online CEU classes in the last couple of weeks, on Dialectical Behavior Therapy and on clinician self-care.

In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I'm still doing a weekly 3-hour comprehensive EMT refresher online. The Staging Area went a little more than 24 hours without power. I used my EDC solar charger to keep up my cell phone battery to call and have sessions with most of my clients. The next day, I used a shovel to clear our sidewalks and driveway and some of the street so we could get The Old Man's car out when we needed to. I dug through the icy snow to create some paths for the water to drain and flow past our driveway and vehicles, which seemed to work. I'm most of the way through my medical supplies and food, but I'm still doing OK.

Base Station/Ol' Number 3: No progress due to the Snowpocalypse. Base Station will need water and tanks pumped for The Old Man's RV, and that will require a vehicle (that I am getting fixed or replaced) that can tow my trailer and also navigate muddy and icy roads - and I won't return him until that happens and his incisions are in better shape.

Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: I completed the goal of completing the Geocaching Finds by Found Date for the third time - this means that I've found at least three geocaches for every day of the year since I started geocaching. I have replaced that goal with another geocaching goal of finding all of the 50 oldest geocaches in Oregon.
