101/1001 Update
"What really fucks guys up is if they don't allow their experiences to change them. We have to grow from it and that takes courage, because in the end we'll be different. I think that grief is like the same force that causes a flower to bloom." - Roger Sparks
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I'm keeping up with three sets of 60 pushups, and three sets of 15 burpees daily. I'm also getting a shorter (1 to 2-mile) ruck daily. I'm training to be stronger every day.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still meditating daily, around the distractions of moving and The Old Man. I finished reading Warrior's Creed: A Life of Preparing for and Facing the Impossible by Roger Sparks. This is a book for warriors, by a warrior; it's equally motivating and validating for those who have faced trauma, danger and death and also about how to experience both mercy and grace once it's over. This was the February GoRuck assigned reading, and it also completes a reading goal. The Old Man is now reading my copy. Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk is the March GoRuck book.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: The old daily driver has been made driveable and she'll be relocated to Base Station as the tow vehicle and the parts/tools vehicle, and I'll get another Jeep as the daily driver. The Whorse is still being worked on, but is a lower priority than the other vehicles.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I'm still doing a weekly 3-hour comprehensive EMT refresher online. I managed to find another abandoned food box that I was able to use, so we've got enough food until we relocate away from the Staging Area. I donated the rest of the food box to a nearby community pantry. Although I am still low on my medical supplies, the Old Man is healing well and using fewer supplies. He had a pre-surgery appointment today; we're waiting on insurance approval and he'll likely undergo his second surgery in a couple of weeks. We went off quarantine, and we went right back on it. *sigh* It'll be nice to be done with that at some point.
Base Station/Ol' Number 3: This weekend will be filling water and dumping tanks out at Base Station, and moving more of The Old Man's stuff into the Gate House, as well as full relocation out of The Staging Area. It will be nice to get him back out to Base Station.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: No progress. Back on quarantine for another two weeks.
