The monthly Update

Burning Man is coming up soon, and I'm starting to get antsy. Things that have been put off are now beginning to get some play, because...

(1) My mental health agency seemed to pass their site review/utilization management review/co-occurring disorders baseline review. I have been putting my mind and body in to this for long hours to get this done, and it paid off. Whew.

(2) This means that my dissertation will be getting some serious consideration, and lots of writing and gnashing of teeth will commence. Stand by.

(3) My wrist seems almost healed, and I went for two hours of Karate without using my brace, and it only is a little sore. I love classes where there's only three students, and I'm the lowest rank---guaranteed to stretch me and teach me a new cool thing. I've been spending time learning green belt kata, Rohai Shodan, and less time with what I'm supposed to be learning, Pinyan Sandan, but I think I'm close to understanding the mechanics of what I should know at my level.

(4) I have taken on several new clients. Paperwork, crisis, rapport, trust; the cycle continues.

(5) Materials have been ordered for my new Japanese armour; soon, there will be fitting and measuring, and it will be good.

(6) Roommate and cats are good, although Daisy (The Seneschal's cat) continues to inappropriately pee---the stereo, my bed, my shoes, my karate bag. She may have to go. I welcome ideas, please.

(7) Truck is unchanged. Sigh. I just cannot afford the bodywork.
The two bikes have also gone the way of too-expensive-to-repair. My HD runs great, though; went to the Season Opener at Stonehenge in Maryhill, WA with the BIMC with no problems.

(8) Relationally, I about to have to make some hard choices about what I want and who I want to spend time with. My time is getting to be more and more stretched to accommodate the needs of others and less time to think about what I want and need and to write my dissertation. I need to simplify.

(1) Good news, glad you're over that hump.

(2) Good luck, we'll be sending brainy mojo your way.

(3) Yea for learning things!

(4) Clients = $$. This is good.

(5) Dude, cool.

(6) Really not cool. Maybe a pet psychic?

(7) I hear ya, I STILL have the dent in my trunk lid where I backed into the mailbox :-(

(8) Choices. Sometimes choosing sucks, but simplify is good.

I hear ya' on the simplification thing. I'm REALLY feeling the need to simplify. I feel like our lives are going to get a lot more complicated in about 6 months, so I want to eliminate as much hassle as possible before hand. That's one of the reasons that we're re-flooring the house with tile - much less maintainance than carpet and much cleaner. We are also doing a "culling," getting rid of as much clutter as possible all over the house. I'm also deciding if I should withdraw some of my church responsibilities. I feel the need to make room both in my house and in my schedule. Something that right now is about 5 inches long is causing a HUGE uproar!!! :-)

I'm feeling muy much better, thank you. It was nice to be kidnapped yesterday and fed real food.

Have you gone to Peanut's blog yet?
