Dec. 6th, 2005 12:12 pmHmmm. Many people are being forced to confront their Demons, and Chaos and Confusion reign. There is a need for Warriors, and many of them close to me are being attacked by their own Demons. Anger and fear must be resolved, faster, and not on battlegrounds of their choosing, but it must be done. Last night I was out until 2am with a combination of business and visiting friends in hot water, and I may not have been at the right place at the right time, but Sensei apparently was able to assist. This makes me wonder if perhaps the lessons of the Tao and a concept called Radical Self-Acceptance, and taking power from Demons by embracing them when ready to do so, is appropriate. Perhaps it is time to again assume the armour of the Dark Samurai and teach the Four Battles, The Six Junctions, and Being Open to All Eight Ways. Maybe even to children.
My own life, of course, has assumed much Chaos. School threatens, and work issues loom, and I also have been forced to face things unexpectedly. Everything from the public utility company to BurningMan ESD to visiting the King to matters of the House of the White Bull has presented a challenge to my wa, and I’ve one less sword to use. But, I breathe, more and more; I am learning more effective techniques. I relax into the storm, and I laugh and wait, and I slip past Chaos.
I am still a bit ill, but the bronchitis and walking pneumonia have mostly passed. I’m training again. Today, I roleplay for my Willamette students in my leathers, and then wrap up the class next week and grade papers and reports. This frees up time for other Students. I hope to retreat to the Fortress of Solitude this week and heal the Body, and detoxify the Mind. I will gather the King’s Protectors closer, helping them move to the Queen, and learn from the High Priestess with the BF. The BF seems to be teaching me and grounding me just the way I learn with what I need to learn, and I am not even sure she knows. And joy of joys, I still get another day with my Little Girl.
"To me, the extraordinary aspect of martial arts lies in its simplicity. The easy way is also the right way, and martial arts is nothing at all special; the closer to the true way of martial arts, the less wastage of expression there is." Bruce Lee
"For me, the martial arts is a search for something inside. It's not just a physical discipline." Brandon Lee
"Walking uplifts the spirit. Breathe out the poisons of tension, stress, and worry; breathe in the power of God. Send forth little silent prayers of goodwill toward those you meet. Walk with a sense of being a part of a vast universe. Consider the thousands of miles of earth beneath your feet; think of the limitless expanse of space above your head. Walk in awe, wonder, and humility. Walk at all times of day. In the early morning when the world is just waking up. Late at night under the stars. Along a busy city street at noontime." Wilferd A. Peterson
"The basic difference between an ordinary man and a warrior is that a warrior takes everything as a challenge while an ordinary man takes everything either as a blessing or a curse”, AND,
“Only as a warrior can one withstand the path of knowledge. A warrior cannot complain or regret anything. His life is an endless challenge, and challenges cannot possibly be good or bad. Challenges are simply challenges.”" Carlos Castaneda
