Continuing to sleep well (#14). Traveled a long day today to Mojave, CA (#66), after two nights and a day at Joshua Tree National Park, learning about the blend of the Colorado and Mojave Deserts, and the plants, animals, and rock formations as well as the history of the people and the lands. Managed to find a lot of the Earthcaches and virtual caches in the area while we were learning, and found the seventh, eight, and ninth of 31 days of a month-long geocaching 'streak' in August, as well as another day of the Finds by Day of Year. So far, we have traveled to three of four of the Southwestern Deserts - the Chihuahuan Desert, the Sonoran Desert, and the Mojave Desert. We'll be in the fourth, the Great Basin Desert, when we get to Burning Man (#61).

Managed to complete and start some supplemental goals while we were at Joshua Tree. The first night we had the camp mostly to ourselves, and virtually no light pollution, so we were able to lay down outside at night and admire the stars while listening to the crickets, and watch part of a meteor shower. We bought a star chart and a book to learn more about the various constellations.

Headed mostly north at this point - planning to visit more national parks before we visit my brother in Davis, CA.
