Goals/Life Update - Day 685/1001
Aug. 21st, 2013 09:29 pm"If someone behaves negatively towards you, it helps to remember that he or she is a human being like you and to distinguish between an action and the person who does it. If counter measures are needed to prevent someone doing harm, it's always better to do it with a calm rather than an agitated mind. If you act out of anger, the best part of your brain fails to function. Remember, compassion is not a sign of weakness." - His Holiness the Dalai Lama
Today, with Steph, and my brother's family, we visited the Bohart Museum of Entomology, ..." the seventh largest insect collection in North America, and is worldwide in coverage. The collection holdings total more than seven million specimens of terrestrial and fresh water arthropods. The museum is also home of the California Insect Survey, a storehouse of the insect biodiversity of California's deserts, mountains, coast, and the Great Central Valley." We also visited The United States Bicycling Hall of Fame, with a good history of bicycling, both competitive events, athletes, and the evolution of bicycles from the 1800s to the current, as well as an excellent collection of bicycles and memorabilia. There was also an excellent Farmer's Market and last minute chores and maintenance on Ol' Number 3. The best thing - they are all within 15 minutes of each other at the University of California - Davis. *smile* Also kept the geocaching streak going, day 21.
Tomorrow we head to Reno, NV, and then we'll be on playa by Friday afternoon (#61).
