Goals/Life Update - Day 863/1001
Feb. 12th, 2014 08:52 pm“Warriors are not what you think of as warriors. The warrior is not someone who fights, because no one has the right to take another life. The warrior, for us, is one who sacrifices himself for the good of others. His task is to take care of the elderly, the defenseless, those who cannot provide for themselves, and above all, the children, the future of humanity.” - Tatanka Iyotaka (Sitting Bull)
Goals Completed: 34
Goals in Progress: 28
Despite the foot of snow that’s been dumped on us this week, there’s been substantial progress in organizing both the garage and the greenhouse. The greenhouse is now ready for planting in the Spring, and there’s almost enough space to work on projects in the garage with the truck pulled in. I’ve pretty much got the tire garden complete; all I need is topsoil. My attention has also turned to fencing in the lower garden area, and I’ve already started to gather supplies.
I’ll be attending an all-day retreat in three weeks at the Great Vow Zen Monastery (#35). I’m still studying for the MAC exam, and I’m officially scheduled to take it in March. The Red Cross has gotten back to me about completing my Disaster Response specialization (#49), and I’m signed up for my Disaster Services Overview class (Module 2) and the Disaster Services Workforce Training on 2/15/13. I’ve also been working on keeping up with my CEUs (#45).
