Second May 2018 101/1001 List Update
May. 15th, 2018 12:57 pmRespect yourself if you would have others respect you. - Baltasar Gracian
Goals Completed: 15
Goals in Progress: 36
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I continue to make getting back to the gym, and pushing strength and conditioning, as my workout priority. Our Spartan Team completed a Spartan Training Workout this weekend that darned near killed us, but we finished it. I'm now up to daily 100 pushups in sets of 25, and I've added daily body-weight squats of 100 in sets of 25. This is in preparation for swapping the squats for burpees in a week or so, now added to the in-progress list. I'm still running the Rugged Maniac 5K at the end of May. I have registered for the Spartan in August.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still back to paying attention to my food intake and my sleep, and making getting more sleep more of a priority, although I haven't got to a 7-hour average a night as of yet. I'm keeping current on my formal meditative practices and considering another month of daily meditation, and also looking at schedules for a week at the monastery.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: Signed up for a 21-credit CEU conference in July, not June.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I'm still working on my Fire Prevention class and getting ready for midterms. I'm signed up for the Red Cross Disaster Academy next weekend, where I should accomplish my yearly CPR/BPLS certification as well as some disaster response classes, as well as the Amtrak Passenger Train Emergency Response training before that.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: Nothing yet planned. I've got SOAK next weekend, and the Burn in August ... but nothing else, really. *sigh*
More Overdue Hiaku
knowledge is power
how and why and what for
overcomes fear
working the muscles
aching legs and arms
Spartan lifestyle
two intense hours
the grey shirt was worth it
training survived!
