The First July 2018 101/1001 Update
Jul. 13th, 2018 08:38 pmAccept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory. - George S. Patton
Goals Completed: 15
Goals in Progress: 36
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I'm still working on strength and conditioning as my workout priority. I'm continuing to get in daily 120 pushups in sets of 30, and I've added daily body-weight squats of 120 in sets of 30. I will be swapping in burpees for the squats, starting this weekend. Pepper and I ran the Rugged Maniac 5K at the end of June, and we did generally well, although I did hurt my bicep again, but only in a minor way. Our team is training more seriously for the Spartan.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still paying attention to my food intake and my sleep, and making getting more sleep more of a priority, although that's pretty difficult some weeks. I still haven't got to a 7-hour average a night as of yet, but I'm getting closer. I'm rereading The Peaceful Warrior.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: Next week I will be taking care of most of my CEUs for the year. I have changed my car insurance, and gotten better Renter's Insurance. I have a dentist appointment in two weeks.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I got an A in my Fire Prevention class, and I will be starting EMS certification classes in the Fall. Summer classes didn't work out. I'm still making some limited progress with my task book for my Firefighter certification.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: We saw Counting Crows/Live/Blue Forest at an amphitheater in Ridgefield, a good show. Pepper and I went on a great road trip to get some of the older geocaches in California (we found seven of the oldest 50), as well as an older geocache in Oregon, and five different National Parks. *smile* We also visited my brother and Pepper's cousin.
