Don't wait. The time will never be just right. - Napoleon Hill
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: No real changes. Lots of functional fitness with lifting, hauling and digging.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still working on Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed, mostly finished with Shunryu Suzuki's Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind, and halfway through Being Wrong: Adventures in the Margin of Error by Kathryn Schulz. I'm still training mindfulness with my eating patterns. I have been staying at Base Station all week to spend time with The Old Man, and to avoid potential civil unrest with the election protests - better to be doing something with my nervous energy. There are still some family medical issues to be dealt with.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: The daily driver passed her recheck of the water pump last week. The Whorse, my Ranger Intercept Jeep, has the rear differential back from the shop, and we're still waiting for the transmission - delayed another week. I passed my BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers class. I completed a 2-credit Ethics CEU class today.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I showed up for the Monday drill at the fire station - and found myself perched on a roof prop in full turnouts at 9 pm (with the emergency lighting mast from Engine 481) with a chainsaw, practicing cutting into the roof without cutting the roof joists for vertical ventilation experience.
Base Station/Ol' Number 3: Base Station now has the internet! The Gate House is half-finished with the drywall installed. No progress on painting the Gate House. We took advantage of several days of nice weather in a row (although now we have several days of constant rain). We now have a waterproof picnic table for nice days to eat outside. A lot of gravel has been dumped on the driveway and drive-throughs, our slash pile is greatly reduced, the blackberries have been trimmed back at the gate, leaves have been raked, and I've installed a tongue box on the trailer. Ol' Number 3 had a kitchen reorganization and is a bit more liveable, and less of a storage space.
Base Station also received another dump truck load of river rock for the septic field. The septic field has had some problems with leveling, and we've got at least two more days of excavating. I have been hand-digging an RV Dump line to the septic system and making good progress.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: No progress. Coronavirus, yo. Avoiding people.
