101/1001 Update
Dec. 10th, 2020 09:58 amThe only way to enjoy anything in this life is to earn it first. - Ginger Rogers
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: No progress. Some functional fitness at Base Station. Regular rucking at night, sometimes also in the morning, and tending to my duties as one of the Free Library Librarians. I'm still considering adding 10 more pounds to the ruck, and I have gotten a sandbag but I haven't filled it with sand or used it yet. I'm considering a virtual race called F*ck 2020, a virtual 5K New Year's Run. *grin*
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still working on Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed. I'm well into Zen and The Way of the Sword by Winston King, starting Flirting with Disaster by Marc Gerstein, and The Gift of Caring by Houle and Eckstrom is next. I'm still training mindfulness with my eating patterns, but being less strict with them. I completed an online presentation on BDSM and Disability. There continue to be some family medical issues to be dealt with, but perhaps they are not as bad as anticipated. More Haiku!
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: No progress with The Whorse. I completed three (1 to 2-credit) CEU classes on COVID-19 Stress Management, Racial Injustice, and Substance Use and Spirituality.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I'm taking the OEMSA All Hazards Disaster Response course, for EMT recertification/CAPCE credit as well as it being a useful class, on Saturday.
Base Station/Ol' Number 3: It continues to be wet almost every day. The Gate House drywall is installed; next is painting, flooring, and appliances. We took advantage of a couple of days of nice weather and backfilled one of the three trenches and dug a second septic system trench. No progress with the Pump House. We've still got several more days of excavating. There has been significant progress on hand-digging the RV Dump line to the septic system; most of the trench has been dug and soon I'll be installing sewer pipe and backfilling the trench.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: No progress.
Haiku
unnecessary
forced chaos and crisis
The year almost gone
grateful for challenge
working to tread water
the daily grind
Keep going? Yep.
Prepare for the next, the
next, the next
