101/1001 Update
Aug. 3rd, 2022 11:23 pm“First see to it that you, yourself, are all right, then think of defeating an opponent.” – The Way of the Spear
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I'm continuing 30 pushups, 30 air squats, 30 crunches, and 3 sets of 30 grippers every work day. I have only trained in one Yang Style Tai Chi/Qigong class again this week, and a few minutes of the Yang staff form.
We showed up and completed the Spartan Workout Tour at the 5.11 Tactical parking lot this last weekend, earning the medal wedge, a free technical fabric T-shirt, a 5.11 sandbag, and some other swag. We also knocked off the 4-mile ruck (35 lbs.) from July's GoRuck 'Revolt' Challenge tasks rucking requirement, which is a "Downwards Ladder (1 of each) - 5 miles, 4 miles, 3 miles, 2 miles, 1 mile." The May GoRuck 'Reverence' Challenge requirements we still have to finish are the second 5-mile Ruck, including "ruck[ing] 2+ miles in the vicinity of a local cemetery. No noise, only respect", and the additional tasking of visiting a grave and making an offering. We still have March's bonus WOD, all of June's 'Dare' Challenge, except for the rucking requirement, and all of July's tasks, except for the first two rucks.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still reading The Chinese Martial Code: The Art of War by Sun Tzu, The Precepts of War by Sima Rangju, and Wu Zi on the Art of War by A. L. Sadler. I hope to get some reading in this week.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: I attended another online 1-CEU class, Bringing Color to the Rainbow: Working with LGBTQIA+ Clients Struggling with Trauma and Substance Abuse. The Whorse is still being repaired for duty at Burning Man this year. Her wiring, wiper motor, and battery have been replaced, as well as her tires. Her suspension is also being repaired. She's going to get a thorough shakedown when I get her back.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: No progress.
Base Station/Ol' Number3: Yet more wood hardener has arrived and been applied for the Fu Dogs. We fixed a hole in the dog run, and I'm working on replacing the broken curtain rod brackets in Ol' Number 3. Painting the Gate House and the Pump House will be happening soon.
Adventure/Doing Stuff: I'll be supporting Faye as she goes through her Hanbleceya ritual, camping for a week, starting tomorrow.
