"The line between failure and success is so fine that we scarcely know when we pass it: so fine that we are often on the line and do not know it." – Elbert Hubbard

This 101/1001 List has been active for exactly one year on March 11th. I have completed five goals so far, including onboarding/active participation with the Medical Reserve Corps, and earning a Community Disaster Preparedness in Healthcare certificate. I have also completed three online college courses, ten FEMA/tactical/disaster preparation classes, and a year of GoRuck Challenges, and returned those goals to the list. Four goals are in progress in Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself, eight in Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health, six in Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done, three in In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation, three in Base Station/Ol' Number 3, and eight goals in Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff.

Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing: I've attended my weekly Shaolin Kung Fu classes. I am making some changes in my diet and overall general health. I am engaging in a 24-hour fast every week. I am now minimizing sugar and carbs in favor of meat and vegetables, and I have friends who are making extra amazing meals for me. I am eating better and healthier.

March's Goruck 'Fortitude' Challenges did drop on time, but I just didn't get the email. The workout is the "FOX FORCE 55", with a Buy In of 50 Sandbag Clean & Front Tosses, and then 2 Rounds of 55 Sandbag Back Rack Walking Lunges, 10 Sandbag Devils Presses, 55 Sandbag Bent Over Rows, 10 Sandbag Devils Presses, 55 Sandbag Thrusters, and 10 Sandbag Devils Presses, with a Cash Out of 50 Sandbag Overhead Flutter Kicks (4 count), with my 60 lb. Sandbag. The rucking and additional challenge is 54 miles rucked in honor of the 54-mile march of non-violent activists, led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., from Selma, Alabama, to the state capital of Montgomery. The book-of-the-month is We the Women: The Hidden Heroes Who Shaped America by Norah O'Donnell. The F*CK is the 60 x 60 (Max Sandbag Burpees in 60 seconds with a 60-lb. Sandbag).

On Week 1, Day 1, we completed the initial F*CK, the 60 x 60 (Max Sandbag Burpees in 60 seconds with a 60-lb. Sandbag). I completed 6.5 burpees. On Day 2, we rucked 4.2 miles, and then I rucked another 1.2 miles to my office and back, meeting a friend to vent about life, stresses, and Kinkfest. Day 3, I added 2.75 miles, dropping off extra food at a community pantry. Day 4, I rucked 4.15 miles with an Amazon return. Day 5, we rucked 4.75 miles, visiting the Tsuru Japanese Garden, and also finding a Fizzy Challenge geocache. Day 6, I rucked 1.7 miles to meet my niece and nephew for lunch. Day 7, I rucked 2.05 miles with friends. Week 1 total: 20.8 miles.

On Week 2, Day 1, I rucked 2.8 miles, dropped off more food at the local community pantry, and scored some nice kitchen knives from a free box. Day 2, I rucked 6.05 miles to Emmanuel Legacy to get my lab work done, and then 1.5 miles to my office and back (and visiting a few Free Libraries on the way). Day 3, just the 1.5 miles to the office and back. Day 4, I rucked 3 trips from my office to the phone-repair store for 3.5 miles. Day 5, I completed the HUNDO, an extra WOD, which was 100 Sandbag Bent Over Rows, 100 Sandbag Back Squats, 100 Push Ups (slick), 100 Ruck Walking Lunges (total), 100 Ruck Overhead Leg Raises, a 100m Farmers Carry (Ruck + Sandbag), and a 100m Ruck Side Shuffle, all with a 40-lb. ruck and my 60-lb. sandbag. I also rucked 4.85 miles, going with friends for dinner and kilt shopping, and then I made two rucks full of food go to two different food pantries. Week 2 total: 41 miles.

Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still studying The Art of War by Sun Tzu. I've added Ideals of the Samurai by William Scott Wilson, and I'm rereading Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl. I've picked up some of the books from the 100 MustReads, and I have read The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, thanks to a luxurious, almost 2-hour uninterrupted reading session with some friends. I have also impulsively picked up The Tao of Pooh to reread, by Benjamin Hoff. I've signed up for a stack of 1-2 CEU webinars this month, as my CADC III is coming due for recertification. I have attended Sleep and Addiction: Fundamentals for Behavioral Healthcare Providers (1 CEU), Growing Up with Addiction, Part II: Treating Adult Children & C-PTSD (1.5 CEUs), No Time to Lose: Early Detection and Intervention for Eating Disorders with Adolescents and Families (1 CEU), and How AI Is Rapidly Altering Life, and Illness, and Mental Healthcare (1 CEU).

Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: No progress. I got my lab work completed. After rucking three miles there, I had great veins, and I was an easy stick. I was given a lollipop for being a good patient. *grin* I decided not to make this a disaster drill, as I had to go into the hospital, and there are things in my go-bag that would not get past security. The lab results were all in the normal range, and, unsurprisingly, I was negative/non-reactive for the entire STI/STD screening. My cholesterol is a tad higher than I would like it. I'm still preparing my books for my CPA. My deadline was March 1st. *frown* I'm late.

In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I'm continuing Jim Cobb's Countdown to Preparedness book/assignments. Week 22 is firearms, and I still need to check, clean, and practice more with my existing gear, but no progress this week. Week 22 is still on hold, but it's now more on my to-do list. For Week 51, Drills, I will have a go-bag drill to my MRC assigned location (Legacy Emanuel Medical Center) in March, counting ruck miles for March's GoRuck requirements. I attended the Effective Communication in Emergency Response class. I still don't have my MRC badge, but I'm promised it in a month.

Base Station/Ol' Number 3: No progress.

Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: I am working on repeating the geocaching Jasmer and Fizzy Challenges, and we found one of the Fizzy Challenge difficulty/terrain combination geocaches I needed. I also DM'd PDX-Rated after we watched The Great Lebowski at the Mission Theatre, and I will be DM'ing Deviance next week.

I'm also still spending a lot of time organizing and checking credentials for the Kinkfest Medical Team, now with 36 volunteers approved on the list, and more coming slowly as they are processed through Volunteer Registration. I will need a total of 40+ volunteers, 6 Shift Leads, and myself. Shift scheduling is ongoing: 28 volunteers are scheduled, and 5 are mostly scheduled. I've added a third Dungeon Team due to the increase in the dungeon space this year, and I am scheduling that. One of our Shift Leads has inventoried what we'll need to order for our regular supplies, including the third Dungeon Team, and I submitted our order to Operations. This weekend is the first of two Medical Team in-person trainings. Kinkfest is in less than three weeks!
