101/1001 Update
Nov. 25th, 2020 01:28 am“Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work.”– Peter Drucker
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: No progress. More functional fitness at Base Station. Three sets of 50 pushups when I'm not at Base Station. Regular rucking at night, tending to my duties as one of the Free Libraries Librarian, dropping off extra canned goods and good socks. I'm considering adding 10 more pounds to the ruck, and getting a sandbag.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still working on Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed. I have finished Shunryu Suzuki's Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind, and Being Wrong: Adventures in the Margin of Error by Kathryn Schulz. I've added Zen and The Way of the Sword by Winston King, Flirting with Disaster by Marc Gerstein, and The Gift of Caring by Houle and Eckstrom. I'm still training mindfulness with my eating patterns. There continue to be some family medical issues to be dealt with. More Haiku!
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: The Whorse has the rear differential back and the transmission back from the shop, and now we're waiting for the hardtop - delayed yet another week. I completed my physical with overall positive results - negative for all STI/STDs, slightly lower cholesterol, normal kidney and liver function, and I lost 11 pounds! I completed two 2-credit CEU classes on Perinatal Care and on Attachment Trauma and the Nervous System.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: Due to the COVID-19 increase, my station shift was canceled. No progress.
Base Station/Ol' Number 3: It has rained almost every day. The Gate House is still half-finished with the drywall installed. We took advantage of a day of nice weather and leveled one of the three trenches and installed the leach lines in that trench. No progress with the Pump House. We've still got at least two more days of excavating. No progress on hand-digging the RV Dump line to the septic system.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: No progress. After taking The Old Man to the hospital for some tests, I am self-quarantining for two weeks.
Hiaku
Everything changed;
pendulum swinging wildly
Still, there is hope.
Fear and Loathing,
Generation of Swine
Hunter was right.
No, Thanksgiving -
We're staying together.
Gratitude bubble.
