101/1001 Update
Dec. 17th, 2020 06:18 pmBody/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: No changes. Regular rucking at night, sometimes also in the morning, and tending to my duties as one of the Free Library Librarians. I'm still considering adding 10 more pounds to the ruck, and I have gotten a sandbag and filled it with sand, but I haven't had the opportunity to train with it yet. I'm signed up for a virtual race called F*ck 2020, a virtual 10K New Year's Ruck.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still working on Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed. I'm most of the way through Zen and The Way of the Sword by Winston King, started Flirting with Disaster by Marc Gerstein, and The Gift of Caring by Houle and Eckstrom is next. I'm still training mindfulness with my eating patterns, but continuing to be less strict with them. There continue to be some very concerning family medical issues to be dealt with, and The Old Man had exploratory surgery today.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: No progress.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I've completed the OEMSA All Hazards Disaster Response course. Unfortunately, "Thank you for your interest in the 2021 metro area OSU Extension Service Master Gardener training. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we will not be holding Master Gardener training in 2021." I'm starting to organize and consolidate the gear for transport at Staging Area, as my landlord may sell where I'm staying within the next six weeks.
Base Station/Ol' Number 3: It continues to be wet every day, and excavator work has been delayed. The Gate House drywall, painting, cabinetry, and appliances are installed; the next step is flooring and the heat pump. Unfortunately, the contractor and his assistant were exposed to COVID-19 and exposed the Old Man - the day before his surgery. No progress with the Pump House. No more progress on hand-digging the RV Dump line to the septic system. I will have to install the sewer pipe and backfill the trench so I can fill the potable water tanks for the RV, probably this weekend.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: No progress. The Old Man and I are in a two-week quarantine, starting today, because of both probable exposures and because of extended time in a hospital facility. No winter holiday break.
