Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: We have finished the last of the four overdue October's 'Chaos' workouts, doing it even faster than the third workout. We again worked 4 Rounds of 19 Ground to Overhead Thrusters, 19 Front Squats, 19 Push-ups for each arm, one hand on sandbag or ruck at all times, and then 400-meter Rucks. We again only used our rucks (for me, 30-lbs.). The only thing left for October is the additional tasking, "[w]rite a love letter, put a stamp on it, and mail it to them." I have, however, completed the additional tasking for December, "[w]rite down the answer to something you've been thinking about for far too long." What's left for December's patch: The workout, the Heavy 12-Miler (Baseline + 20% weight in the ruck), and the ongoing daily rucks for December. I have also participated in one Tai Chi/Qigong class (the school has closed for the Christmas holiday).
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still reading The Art of War by Sun Tzu from my permanent library, and Dropping the Struggle: Seven Ways to Love the Life You Have by Roger Housden, and Final Exam: A Surgeon's Reflections on Mortality by Pauline W. Chen. I'm also most of the way through yet another picked up book, Walk in My Combat Boots: True Stories from America's Bravest Warriors by Chris Mooney, James Patterson, and Matt Eversmann.
New words: A triptych is a picture (such as an altarpiece) or carving in three panels side by side, something composed or presented in three parts or sections, and/or an ancient Roman writing tablet with three waxed leaves hinged together. Jubilate means to feel joy or great delight. Adventitious means coming from another source, and it is used in formal writing - in botany, it means arising or occurring sporadically in other than the usual location.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: No progress.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I checked on the supplies and gear at Base Station and at Faye's Place, and we are well prepared for a snow/ice storm, with a loss of infrastructure.
Base Station/Ol' Number 3: We had a quiet and peaceful holiday celebration at Base Station, with the traditional Christmas Eve Beef Ribs, and Prime Rib on Christmas Day. I got some practice chasing HAM operators, but made no actual contacts. No actual chores or projects were worked on, nor completed.
Adventure/Doing Stuff: No progress.
