If we take care of the moments, the years will take care of themselves. – Maria Edgeworth

The sixth list started June 13th, 2022, and will end on March 10th, 2025.

Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I've finished reading Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art by James Nestor, April's Goruck Challenge required reading, and we're more than halfway through S. C. Gwynne’s Empire of the Summer Moon, May's required reading. We still have March's bonus WOD and April's WOD to complete, and all of May's GoRuck 'Reverence' Challenge tasks, and now we have all of June's 'Dare' Challenge. We have completed one of the two 5-mile Heavy Rucks (45-lb. ruck) for the May Challenge and one of the 4-mile Rucks (35-lb. ruck) for the June Challenge. Unfortunately, however, I slipped in some mud and tore a hamstring at the end of the 4-miler, so no serious training for a few weeks or so. *sigh* After injuring my hamstring, physical training is on hold, although I am keeping up with 2 sets of 25 grippers every work day. Several days after my injury, I was able to do a modified Yang Style Tai Chi/QiGong class, but it's still pretty bruised and sore. I was supposed to run (most likely walk slowly) the Foam Glow this weekend, but we got an email stating "[w]e regret to inform you that due to the neighboring areas around the venue's noise ordinances we are unable to hold our Foam Glow Run in Portland". Probably just as well - I'm in no shape to walk that far right now.

Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I've still reading The Chinese Martial Code: The Art of War of Sun Tzu, The Precepts of War by Sima Rangju, Wu Zi on the Art of War by A. L. Sadler. I've finished reading I Wasn't Strong Like This When I Started Out: True Stories of Becoming a Nurse by Lee Gutkind. I've also read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a 2009 parody novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, a mashup combining Jane Austen's classic 1813 novel Pride and Prejudice with elements of modern zombie fiction, crediting Austen as co-author. A fun read!

Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: The daily driver has been dropped off for her off-road lighting, and some header/exhaust valve replacement.

In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: No progress.

Base Station/Ol' Number3: I ordered the wood hardener, varnish, and urethane, and we are waiting for the Fu Dogs to finish drying.

Adventure/Doing Stuff: We attended an outdoor venue concert, mostly staying well away from other people and masking when we were close to them - and we saw Ho99o9, Cypress Hill, and Slipknot. Usually, Slipknot/KnotFest shows are more of a riot disguised as a concert, but this smaller show was pretty calm and pretty enjoyable for a metal band. This last weekend, I attended and completed my annual Black Rock City Ranger training, and spent Sunday with the Old Man for Father's Day.
