The chief condition on which life, health, and vigor depend on, is action. It is by action that an organism develops its faculties, increases its energy, and attains the fulfillment of its destiny. — Pierre-Joseph Proudhon

Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I didn't train in any Qi Gong/Yang Tai Chi classes or Shaolin Kung-Fu classes this last week; my client schedule after the snow and ice storms disrupted my usual training times, and I am restricting my driving due to mechanical issues. I've made no progress with the Yang Staff Form and the Shaolin sword form. I hope to attend at least two classes this week. I have a 5K run in mid-February, my first race of the year.

January's GoRuck 'Create' challenges are all but completed. The rucking/additional challenge requirements were to ruck outside for 45 minutes daily and the workout was 75 pushups daily. I finished the book of the month, The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin. For the F*CK, I had been increasing the pushups I can do at one time, from 40 to 50+, and I did complete all 75 at one time, with a 10-second break, in 86 seconds. I'm current on my rucking and pushups at the end of Day 30, and my ruck is already loaded for tomorrow, the last day.

Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still reading Hope Dies Last: Keeping the Faith in Difficult Times by Studs Terkel, and Your Brain on Food: How Chemicals Control Your Thoughts and Feelings by Gary L. Wenk. I've also started the Alex Fletcher series by Steven Konkoly, The Method of Zen by Eugen Herrigel, and Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind: Informal Talks on Zen Meditation and Practice by Shunryu Suzuki. I have added The Inside Track: An Inspirational Guide To Conquering Adversity by Peter Sage, The Disaster-Ready Home: A Step-by-Step Emergency Preparedness Manual for Sheltering in Place by Creek Stewart, and Hidden in Plain Sight: Esoteric Power Training Within Japanese Martial Traditions: Tracing the Roots of Ueshiba Morihei's Power, by Ellis Amdur(editor) to my overwhelming book stack.

Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: No progress. The Daily Driver has a confirmed serious leak in the power steering pump that will need one to two weeks to rebuild and fix. I'll have to restrict driving and keep putting in ATF, checking it every time I drive, until I can drop it off for that long. I've got my dental appointment coming up next week.

In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I will renew my Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification this week, and I will also start a double-weekend long class, S-290, Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior. The EMT training I missed was rescheduled for April.

Base Station/Ol' Number 3: No progress. I expect that septic trenching will start soon, and then gravel on the driveway once the septic trenching has been completed.

Adventure/Doing Stuff: No progress.
