It doesn't matter how one was brought up. What determines the way one does anything is personal power. - Carlos Castaneda

Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing: I'm back to my weekly Shaolin Kung Fu class, and I enjoyed an extra hour of push-hands with a friend in Mt. Tabor Park. We're still working on the nunchaku form and our Circle of Basics. There was no class this week because of Thanksgiving. We rucked the HTC Turkey Trot. I have registered for the 2026 Spartan Race. Much of the Thanksgiving holiday was spent catching up on my reading and taking an online college course, rather than shopping or going somewhere.

October's GoRuck 'Adventure' Challenges are complete. All that was left for this month were the F*CKs, max reps of pushups in 2 minutes, and max forearm plank for time. November's GoRuck 'Awe' Challenges are also completed. The Rucking and Additional Challenges requirement was, "Ruck a 5k (3.1 miles) each week in November & if possible join a turkey trot in your area on Thanksgiving day or find a buddy to ruck with!" The F*CK was Sandbag Thrusters, max reps for 2 minutes, and each rep must have a full depth squat and full lockout overhead. The book was Awe: The New Science of Everyday Wonder and How It Can Transform Your Life by Dacher Keltner.

For Week 4, we rucked a Turkey Trot 5K the night before Thanksgiving, seeing the Christmas lights at PIR before most of the public. All that was left were the last two months' F*CKs and November's book-of-the-month. Despite still not feeling well and somewhat depleted, I have finished November's book, the October F*CKs (47 pushups, 1:07 plank), and the November F*CK (27 Ruck Thrusters). Ready for December's Challenges!

Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I've finished rereading/studying The Teachings of Don Juan: Journey to Ixtlan by Carlos Castaneda from my permanent martial arts library, and my next book in my library is Warriors of the Heart by Danaan Parry. I'm still working my way through A New Mourning: Discovering the Gifts in Grief by Georgena Eggleston.

I've completed all the modules of the first and second of three online college courses from Stanford University Online (Stanford Center for Health Education, Stanford University School of Medicine). In STANHCM01: Healthcare and Crisis Preparation, I learned a lot about the HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) and cybersecurity. In the next online class in the series, STANHCM02: Risk Management and Crisis Responses in Healthcare. I've learned more about the ethical challenges of decision-making, crisis planning, and standards of care, as well as disaster triage (and the newer 'Expectant' category of SALT triage). I've enrolled in the third class, STANHCM03: Leadership and Resilience in Healthcare Risk Management. Once I have finished the 3-class series, called Healthcare Risk Management: Planning, Response, and Recovery, I'll call my second online college class complete.

In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I'm continuing Jim Cobb's Countdown to Preparedness book/assignments. Week 22 is firearms, and I still need to check, clean, and practice more with my existing gear. Week 22 is still on hold. I'm in good shape for Week 37, Site Security Survey.

Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: I'm still working through the life insurance policies and the legal issues that have to be resolved by the end of the year; yet another stack of mail has arrived. The Whorse will be ready for pickup whenever I can; I'll get her to Base Station and start her rehabilitation and restocking soon. The Daily Driver got her front wheel bearings replaced and a new battery.

Base Station/Ol' Number 3: No progress.

Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: No progress.
