Well. Last night I called about Masonic Lodges in Creedmoor, and found that the Lodges in Creedmoor and Oxford conflict with my Tang Soo Do class, but the Lodge in Butner meets on the fourth Tuesday---which happened to be last night.

So, I got a nice shirt and pants and a tie, and rode to Lodge. I was the most overdressed person there. Most of the brethren were in shorts or jeans and polo shirts at best. They, of course, were also having an amazing porkchop spread with all the fixings, that I chose to turn down because my fast is not done until midnight tonight. The examination that is supposed to be a fairly lengthy process was just a quick look at my dues card and a brief test of the Master Mason pass, grip, and word. Lodge itself was very interesting, but a bit long. NC Grand Lodge legislation, as well as a Fellow Craft proficiency (the call it a catechism out here), and usual Lodge business took almost two hours. I was welcomed and invited back. In fact I already knew some of the brethren--the Worshipful Master's son I help out in Tang Soo Do, and the owner of the gym (where the dojang is) is the Senior Steward. They have a meal every month, and I intend to make as many lodge meetings as possible. Afterwards, I had a chance to catch up with Tam, which was very nice, although I was very tired.

The fast continues. I've mostly detoxed most of the processed food and medication out of my system, and I think my body has mostly stabilized. I will probably do this at least yearly.

My knee is still a bit swollen, so I walked again this morning, and I notice my muscles are also a bit tight. It was a beautiful cloudy day with just a sprinkle of warm rain. It felt good to walk and perform gentle kata/hyung and breathe. I've upped my water intake partly to help move lactic acid out of my muscles and partly to prep for the desert. This morning was the day when I was receptive to cats--two different cats hung out with me, one while I was walking and one while doing kata.

Today: Pack. Tang Soo Do. Taking it easy and resting my knee.

Seems you're doing all the right things and that the universe is guiding you in making solid and supportive connections, in social, professional, and personal circles.

re the knee swelling-have you ever used arnica cream? It's a homeopathic that I've used for years to treat swollen joints; it decreases pain by decreasing swelling and works within about 20 minutes. Effective, non greasy, non irritating, and non toxic. I buy the kind made by Boiron, in a white box with black, blue, and green print. Health food stores and chain store health food sections usually carry it in the natural remedies aisle. If I've already told you, "never mind". :)

I'm glad to hear that you attract kitties. That's a great quality!
