I’m back from the Burn. I’ve a lot of really good memories, and a bit of meditative practice, spending my time mostly with the Divine Feminine and its mysteries, although perhaps not in a traditional way. Despite my mala breaking, and carrying a radio and pager for most of the week, and the most difficult year for the Crisis Team ever, my entire Burn was about Shakti in all of her forms. I arrived with high energy, and some cold rage, and left with higher energy, but with the rage burned away.

I encouraged the rage and the vindication of a woman raped at last years Burn, and I held the space and allowed a woman violated at this year’s Burn to cry and grieve. I was held myself. I was fed and nurtured, and taken in when I was exhausted after repeated calls, and allowed to sleep in women’s spaces to sleep and rejuvenate. I had many enlightening conversations with women, including Tam, Mango, and Ms. Pinkk. I had balance painted on my back by Rain. I was enveloped by the feminine the night of the blood moon, spending the night with BIMC Presidents. I hung out with way more sexual assault/domestic violence healers, and way less psych/medical folks. I was a bouncer at Spike’s Vampire Bar, protecting the dancers and allowing them the safety to enjoy themselves doing what they like to do without being threatened or distracted by drunken aroused men.

I drank a lot of free coffee, Kaldi’s gift, and ate either dusty energy bars or filet mignon, and gave a lot of energy and things away. I celebrated the Burning and (re)Burning of the Man, but I burned with the Temple of Forgiveness Burn, releasing my yearly haiku of sadness, as well as a China Shop apology and copper and pewter dragons on Monday. I earned my ESD polar fleece pullover, perfect for those 4am calls to Ranger Sanctuary. I was gifted a red BRC Ranger sarong, because I’d responded to so many Ranger calls. I earned a Spike’s Bar Security Shirt, and earned my teeth and another family.

I spent some time with Tam, when our paths crossed. We still have much to talk about, when the time is right. It’s even clearer to me she is the one I love, and others pale in comparison. There are still holes in both of us that need to be filled, but I look forward to working on them, and not reliving the past. Kalliste gifted me with the reminder that the point of power is always in the present moment, and that the past is over and done and has no power over me, and those stuck in the past and not growing have to be left behind.

Now? I'm back in Oregon, moving fast, and cutting away that which does not serve, gathering resources and re-establishing networks, but simplifying. There's work to be done.

I am glad to hear you in high spirits!
Yes I too miss you but I have my sister Lacy here and things are changing and happening as I move forward.
I Still think I need to take on the project of noting everytime I think, say, or do, something I learned from you just to see how huge it would be -Smile-
