When people can't abide things as they are, when they can't abide the present, they do one of two things ... either they ... either they turn to a contemplation of the past ... or they set about to ... alter the future. And when you want to change something ... YOU BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

EDWARD ALBEE, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Bang!Bang!Bang!..Bang? Like banging one's head against the wall working to understand a koan perhaps?

Hmmm....

Vows are spoken, to be broken - feelings are intense, words are trivial - pleasures remain, so does the pain - words are meaningless, and forgettable. ~ Unknown

Unless your heart, your soul, and your whole being are behind every decision you make, the words from your mouth will be empty, and each action will be meaningless. Truth and confidence are the roots of happiness. ~Unknown

Words have no meaning without actions behind them and feeling in them. They are simply words and going through the motions. Meditate on that.

So, I took my own advice and meditated on words and the meaning of what is behind them. Surprisingly enough, sometimes it isn't the words you have to watch out for, but the letters.

It is!!

FedEx was founded by Fredrick Smith in 1973. Smith was also the company’s first CEO, and he remained in that position until March 1998. Smith got this idea about improving the existing express delivery system while he was an undergraduate student at Yale University... Fred Smith recognized this and presented a paper describing the existing system and recommended improvements to it. Smith received a ‘C’ grade for his efforts.
Obviously, Smith was not discouraged by the letter grade as is evident from the current standing of Fedex.

It makes one wonder how foolish that professor felt when they eventually realized how far off base they were.
