grim23Instead of grinding out yet more reports, I actually took a couple of extra days off this week. A Temple Brother, Lee, was in town teaching, and I spent some quality time with him. He's a shaman, and a philosopher, and has a wonderful brain. I spent time with him writing lists, eating well, talking about dreams and relationships,and taking him to Breitenbush Hot Springs (#43, #76) for a wonderful soak and for walking the Labyrinth. On the way back from PDX, I diverted from home long enough for a quick geocache (#106) stop with President Tiny, and received wise counsel with the BF. After talking to Lee and the BF, I've parceled out the aspects of my life and discovered that most of them are unbalanced, and in need of attention. Ho ho. Yet another challenge. Thanks, Universe, for bringing this to my attention.
My self-care's OK, but sleep (#97) and eating more mindfully (#26) needs more practice. Working on my 101/1001 list daily, being aware of my sarvata, and being vigilant for rationalizations and Ego appear to be my spiritual tasks (#13). I have been neglecting my family. I will work to call more frequently and get a better calling plan by the end of the month. I'll be visiting at Christmas as usual. I need to train more, and maybe add another school or style, and practice more out of the dojo (#10, #35). Ol' Number 3 is a wonderfully meditative practice (#17), and progress there makes for a more centered person. I'm moving offices, rethinking my schedule, planning to nail the EPPP, first time (#14), and then I'll rethink whether or not I want to continue my Oregon practice (#25). My reward for the EPPP pass will be a long trip, maybe national (#21) or maybe international, and the Criswell tanto I've been wanting.
Based on the ever-increasing evidence of unknown-to-me past relationship drama, and also the need for me to work, play, and train with others at my level - I'm not going to be looking for any new relationships right now. I'm feeding the Naked Flame, and just that. I'm interested in new experiences, new ideas, and new ways, but as a supportive friend. I'm not interested at this time in another student, but I'm working on more periodic check-ins with my current students. I'm enjoying working on me right now, thanks.
