Well. Let's take an inventory. Ol' Number 3 is still not fixed - she wasn't fixed right with the previous owner, and parts and repair are going to be expensive (#17). I'm still technically homeless. Work continues to be fairly ugly, but grace and decorum are still prevailing. I've managed to bruise both forearms, blocking a poorly aimed staff (#12). My running is slow and difficult (#1) because I appear to be recovering from some sort of lengthy respiratory problem, and I am only able to properly perform 50 consecutive sit-ups (#6) and 40 consecutive push-ups (#5).

OK, then. Let's look at this as a Warrior. The bus/homelessness issue is simply a challenge, that allows me to practice living out of my truck and social network. Work is merely an exercise in professionalism and patience. Training continues with bruises because that is part of the training. Running and building back muscle and endurance are skills that come of doing, as JIC would say.

From Carlos Castaneda:

“If a warrior is to succeed at anything, the success must come gently, with a great deal of effort but with no stress or obsession.”

“Only as a warrior can one withstand the path of knowledge. A warrior cannot complain or regret anything. His life is an endless challenge, and challenges cannot possibly be good or bad. Challenges are simply challenges.”

Ho, ho.
