Goals/Life Update
Jul. 29th, 2010 09:36 pmMy list of things being worked on before I leave for the Burn:
#2: Running a 10k may not happen before I leave in 3 weeks, although I am running on a regular basis. Additionally, I will be training with members of my dojang for a half marathon in October or November.
#4: Performing pushups daily, but only up to maybe 50+ consecutively.
#5: Not working situps as hard as I could, but I should be on track to complete this before I leave.
#6: I cannot afford the gym, so this plan is on hold - although my pushups are good training for this.
#12: Haven't been in the dojang much this week, and won't be because I'll be in Austin prepping for the Burn, but still working the staff form. Patience, young Jedi. *smile*
#97: Sleep patterns have been a little off, but I'm maintaining 7-8 hours per night as a rule. I need to practice more self-discipline in this area, and get to bed at a reasonable hour.
#26: I've made progress with practicing mindful eating (day 17), and I've eaten no sweets, bread, excessive fat, or unhealthy foods.
#28: I have read some of the books in my martial arts library, and more are ready to be read.
#62: I've just finished Kabat-Zinn's book "Wherever You Go, There You Are", a book about mindful meditation in everyday life. An excellent read. More books in this category are also ready to be read.
#69: I've written haiku, and I'll be writing more.
#34: Plans to install fire cannons on my chopper are on hold until the health of my mechanic improves.
#49: Working on getting an appointment for a sports physical and a complete set of bloodwork. Voice mails have been left.
#79: I have been working on this, in many small ways. To relay how I've been helping wouldn't be very anonymous, would it? *smile*
