Getting Up
Feb. 28th, 2005 06:36 pmI train Karatedo. Today, I became Self. Every day, I meditate about fear, and dying, and failure, so that when that happens, I WILL NOT STOP. I faltered, and forgot my training and my resolve. Once again, I learn the painful lesson.
The chestplate is cut off. The arrow is yanked out. I breathe. I refuse to let this Old Way of self-indulgence beat me. Lose Self. Become Will. Breathe again. Stand. Pick up my sword, raise it high.
I have things to do.

Strength & Will
Date: 2005-03-01 01:56 pm (UTC)Depending on its own powerful roots and trunk
To withstand the onslaught
And is torn from the ground, tossed, broken, humbled
The humble reed is strong and faces the winds
Depending on its ability to bend, adapt, and adjust
To withstand the onslaught
And survives to see the return of the sun and calm
The Oak has strength, but the reed has the Will to perservere and survive
In Kata, the true power is in flowing with the energy, allowing Will to align with heart and the center that is the universe, that is Chi... the power of Kata, of Karate-Do is in the flow and grace, much more than in the strength of the blow. The best way to unbalance an opponent is to allow him to defeat himself, to sidestep at the right moment and allow him to be impaled by the power of his own force, let his own energy be his undoing. Breathe, wait, stand in the chi, focus, bend, flow, adapt... Be the reed Beloved
Ever yours,
Aurora
