Life/Goals Update
Oct. 23rd, 2010 08:51 pmThis week, I was blessed to have Ranger Hazelnut come out to visit. She got to see New Braunfels, meet my father, geohike, geocache, spend a day in Austin, eat brisket, and have a Lone Star Beer. I picked her up fresh from one event, and got her back to the airport in time for the Portland Decompression.
This morning, three thousand people participated in the Livestrong 5K. I ran with a friend for his first 5K. We ran well and evenly, and ended well. It wasn't timed, but we figured out we ran it in about 31 minutes. We maintained an even pace throughout the course, which was our focus - we're still on for the Wurst 5-miler next Saturday. This progressive running pace puts me well into the 10k range (#2) and also the half-marathon range (#3).
Training in the dojang continues, and we have again restarted staff forms (#12). I have committed to Youdanja. Additionally, I start my new practice this upcoming week, and I will be focusing on taking care of business more and geocaching less. I owe some money. Fortunately, my practice will accommodate my training schedule. I'll be working quite a bit to pay for the repairs and cleaning of my property in Oregon - I am rather dismayed at the level of filth and damage and theft. Also fortunately, I have a kick-ass cleaning service. *smile*
This week I will be working on finishing up a homework assignment (#13 and #62), sleeping consistently (#97), and getting in one last geohike (#43). I will be renewing my Oregon LPC license, just in case, although my family situation is that I will not only not be leaving Texas anytime soon, but I won't be leaving the San Antonio - Austin region.
Now for a cigar, chocolate, and some scotch, courtesy of Miss Rebecca.
