Road trip to Texas, Day 1
Jan. 9th, 2010 10:12 pmI'm sitting safely in the Tea Room of Jackson Hot Springs, in Ashland, having just soaked for an hour (#76). I drove 'Ol Number 3 over the passes today. She wasn't fast, and needed some rest at a couple of points, but she made it. Harmony Event Medicine was given as a donation two boxes of needed medical supplies en route, and a tasty breakfast was consumed. Tonight I'll be staying warm with my new very significant quilt, a Yule present from Miss Rebecca.
I am noticing positive changes in my body, and road trips have been very centering for me as I spend more time in the moment and and I have time to think and feel. Here, I'm breathing more, and feeling a sense of reverence in this sacred place. In the Tea Room is a shrine of Buddha, and outside by the soaking pools is a shrine to Ganesh, a symbol of overcoming obstacles. There are spiritual symbols everywhere, and I am admiring a beautiful painting of Lord Shiva's Dance as I type this.
I'm tired, and I'm going to read for a bit (#62) and then go to bed early (#97). I'll be geocaching tomorrow morning, working my forms, and then soaking again before rolling for Davis, CA to visit family for a couple of days. I plan to see a Railroad Museum (#94) and go geocaching in Sacramento, spending some time with my niece and nephew.
