Yesterday I passed my General Class Amateur Radio Examination (#109) at the Belton, TX Hamfest with my father. I had to take the exam twice - the first time I missed the cut-off by two questions, so I marched out, signed up again, filled out all the paperwork again, and retook it. I passed at exactly the cut-off. Not my best test performance, but it doesn't matter. *smile*

I also found out my vanity callsign came through, and I'm now officially N5GRM. I was also gifted a very nice hand-held FT-60R handheld radio from my father for my birthday, and I also was gifted a very nice dobok from Valerie. These are both wonderful things that I can really use, and I'm very thankful and grateful. I have abundance!

After getting back from Belton, I went to the Flipside Volunteer Appreciation Campout (#43). I had a calm, off-duty evening, ate brisket, and relaxed in the sun today with some of my Burner friends. I've been promised a nice dinner and a 'Death by Chocolate' cake tomorrow. *smile*

Despite some ugly things coming up that I will have to deal with later, today I have found some peace.
