Goals/Life Update - Day 396/1001
Nov. 4th, 2012 12:58 pm"One has to live in the present. Whatever is past is gone beyond recall; whatever is future remains beyond one's reach, until it becomes present. Remembering the past and giving thought to the future are important, but only to the extent that they help one deal with the present." - S.N. Goenka
Goals Completed: 14
Goals in Progress: 29
Body: Clients, holidays, Wurstfest, Tour De Gruene Communications, and other priorities uncharacteristically kept me from the dojang this week. I owe myself 7 classes. Baseline on push-ups and sit-ups (#5, #6). I did not continue a better sleep regimen this week (#14). There was no real progress this week with Training the Body.
Mind: I completed my goal of a 90-day mindful eating practice (#27) this week, completing it in exactly 6 months. I started and finished Dave Lowry's Sword and Brush: The Spirit of the Martial Arts (#28). Still signed up for Urban Shield (#40) on 12/1/12.
Work: Still registered for a 5-CEU class on Overmedication 11/10/12 (#45). I plan to complete as much of the preliminary classes completed on-line for acquiring a Disaster Response specialization (#49) through the American Red Cross as I can on Monday.
Life: The Sportster (#75) project is still not fully completed. No progress; there's been no time. Besides my usual work schedule, I've worked 12 hours of the Tour De Gruene bicycle race as a field radio operator at different aid stations and turns on the race. I've also volunteered two shifts with the New Braunfels Noon Lions parking cars (our main fundraiser). I don't begrudge the time; volunteering is necessary and useful - and I get to spend some time with Dad. A random and anonymous opportunity to help someone (#78) presented itself, and was completed.
This week on 'Ol Number 3: The electrical problem was fixed, and plans for a more effective bathroom area that allows for more storage will move forward, as well as other little projects that allow the clearing of the top of the bed - a current repository of stuff. *smile*
