Goals/Life Update - Day 424/1001
Dec. 2nd, 2012 08:57 pm"The undisturbed mind is like the calm body water reflecting the brilliance of the moon. Empty the mind and you will realize the undisturbed mind." - Yagyu Jubei
Goals Completed: 17
Goals in Progress: 29
Body: I trained/taught a triple-class at the San Marcos dojang, and trained a single class at Seguin this week. I'm now down to owing myself 7 classes (#1, #2, #11). Baseline on push-ups and sit-ups (#5, #6), but with better form, more easily. I again managed to continue a better sleep regimen this week (#14) despite a single day of insomnia.
Mind: I finished Cheng Tzu's Thirteen Treatises on T'ai Chi Cu'uan (#28) and started Shunryu Suzuki's Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind. I was a participant/volunteer/simulated victim for the 2012 Urban Shield exercise (#40), which completed that goal. It's time to start a daily meditative practice (#39).
Work: No progress on starting any of the preliminary classes completed on-line for acquiring a Disaster Response specialization (#49). No classes are currently being offered within an 80 mile radius of Hotel Mearse.
Life: Again, no progress on the Sportster (#75) project. Tried a new food (#68), Moscato Peach Chicken, described as "grilled chicken breasts with a moscato wine and peach glaze served with spinach, tomatoes and curly mafalda pasta in a creamy parmesan sauce with a touch of pancetta bacon".
This week on 'Ol Number 3: Ol' Number 3 has a new bedroom shelf, and a repaired storage/backboard setup up top. Steph has been busy working on finishing painting the rest of the walls and the roof.
