Goals/Life Update - Day 710/1001
Sep. 17th, 2013 11:57 pm"Being busy does not always mean real work. The object of all work is production or accomplishment and to either of these ends there must be forethought, system, planning, intelligence, and honest purpose, as well as perspiration. Seeming to do is not doing." - Thomas A. Edison
Goals Completed: 32
Goals in Progress: 25
Today we had to go to Astoria to run some errands, so we grabbed Kuno the dog, for a day out. We visited Fort Stephens State Park/Museum and the artillery batteries that defended the Oregon/Columbia coast. We stopped at Seaside to dip our feet in the ocean and see the Peter Iredale Shipwreck before stopping at the Rogue Brew House and trying a new beer, a Juniper Pale Ale (#68). We did a bit of geocaching at every stop, continuing my Finds by Day supplemental goal.
I expect that I will soon be engaging in another fast (#12), as it’s after Burning Man and before my birthday. I’ve also added another supplemental goal of learning 50 new words. The Zen Monastery (#35) is very close to where I am, so it’s likely I’ll be starting on that goal very soon. I haven’t started running, pushups, or situps (#3, #5, and #6) yet, but I also have plans to start that soon.
At the House of a Thousand Projects, I’ll be working more indoors due to the weather. Organizing tools and storage and preparing the greenhouse are priorities. Ol’ Number 3 also needs some work post-trip, including cleaning and insulation and winter storage.
