Goals/Life Update - Day 748/1001
Oct. 20th, 2013 10:16 pm"To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing, unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour." - Winston S. Churchill
Goals Completed: 32
Goals in Progress: 26
Today was spent mainly clearing out the trellis area around the woodshed, and taking all of the yard debris down to the garden field to be burned. I finished all of the paperwork required to reapply for my Oregon license, and I’ll mail it in the morning. I will also be getting my truck registered in Oregon tomorrow, taking a load of cans and bottles to be returned for the deposit, and probably spending the afternoon burning all of the accumulated yard debris.
Meditations continue, and I continue to find my days yanking, ripping, cutting, burning, and hammering – all moving meditation, as I transform a small area into something more useful, or bigger, or clearer. I’m eating less, and my shirts fit tighter. Working hard in the outdoors in the earth and sun suits me. As the rain and snow and cold come, I will spend more time inside studying for the EPPP (#41) and for the ARES Field Operator (#104) and organizing my hard drives/music (#102).
