Goals/Life Update - Day 842/1001
Jan. 22nd, 2014 11:39 pmIf we write our dreams and goals down, we dramatically increase our odds of realization. If we share them with others, they become potent and alive. - Kristin Armstrong
Goals Completed: 32
Goals in Progress: 30
I’ve heard from Columbia County Mental Health, and my application materials are being forwarded to the ‘hiring supervisor’ who will contact me if they decide they need someone. I’ve got a new sliding-scale fee client and an overdue oil change completed. I’ve had my dental exam (#84), with no cavities! I was rescheduled for my physical exam (#85), because the Doctor was apparently ill with the norovirus sweeping through Oregon. I’m still studying for the MAC exam. I’ve also looking seriously at spending some time at the Great Vow Zen Monastery (#35). There’s a Work Day this Saturday I’m planning on attending. New food: Maple Bacon Kettle Chips (#68).
I’ve burned all the accumulated paper trash and yard debris, and made some progress on the trellis in the front yard and in the greenhouse. I’ve also made significant progress with the woodshed - there are areas of the woodshed where you can see the dirt floor. I’ve moved about half of the remaining firewood to the woodstove in the garage where it’s useable, cleaned out most of the garbage, and put things where they belong. I'm working on having enough room to use the table saw I found under tarps, junk, and a mouse nest. Now, the truck not only fits in the garage, there’s now room to open the tailgate and enough space to close the garage door. Every week I work on using up what we have, getting rid of stuff we don't need, and organizing/learning what we do need. It'll be a long process.
For the tire garden, I’ve flipped the tires inside out so they can be labeled, placed the tires where they’ll go, added screening to keep out the moles, laid mulch, and filled them with dirt. Fourteen tires took a yard of topsoil. They’ll be ready for an early planting if the weather allows, and they’re out of the garage. *smile* I’ve acquired about 30 more tires, five of which are high-profile tires that don’t need cutting, and I’ll be working on adding them to the garden.
