Goals Completed: 37
Goals in Progress: 25
Today I transplanted all of the beans from the greenhouse to the safety of the tire garden covered with bird netting, and started the entire next round of plants/seeds. I also spent some time re-planning the garden, with the idea of temporarily abandoning the lower field (I just cannot afford the fencing and the stakes to protect the beans and the corn from the deer) and incorporating the beans and the corn into the upper field. It looks like everything will fit and will grow, perhaps just less elegantly than planned originally. *smile*
I started more beets and lima beans, okra, squash, cucumbers, more beans and tomatoes, and more carrots and tomatillos from the planters and starters. The peppers are still slowly growing. The last of the topsoil is in the wheelbarrow in the greenhouse for the third and final round of planting in a few weeks. Any extra seeds will get planted in the greenhouse this week to supplement the growing cycles, and to protect the extra beans from the birds.
Tomorrow, I’ll likely be working on the irrigation ditch and burning the paper trash and more yard debris, and weeding around the upper field. I’m still planning on attending a geocaching CITO event on Sunday with a difficulty/terrain combination I don’t have (#96).
