Goals/Life Update - Day 100/1001
Oct. 9th, 2014 11:04 pmThe challenge of leadership is to be strong but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not a bully; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly. - Jim Rohn
Goals Completed: 3
Goals in Progress: 21
I’m 100 days into my third list, and I’m making reasonable progress for a bit more than three months. Three tasks completed, and generally good progress with 21 more tasks, is a good start.
Yesterday I spent two hours training in both Yang-style Short and Long forms (#01, #10), and today the Sifu tested us by leading us through all of the traditional forms, and then focusing on the Iron Fan form. My forms are starting to get more relaxed and therefore more powerful, and my fan openings, strikes and blocks are becoming more crisp. Additionally, I didn’t cut myself today!
I’m starting a fast (#15) this Saturday in conjunction with the meditation and preparation for the Puja in November (#13, #22), and my meditations have shown a need for clearing out my clogged lower chakras, and dumping some accumulated trauma, relationships, and anger. These lower chakras have been affecting my sleep and eating habits (#14, #16).
Tomorrow I’m taking a break from the stresses of the House of a Thousand Projects and going geocaching and hiking for three Grimm geocaches (#86) in Portland.
