Goals/Life Update - Day 506/1001
Nov. 19th, 2015 11:42 pmDon't sit down and wait for the opportunities to come, you have to get up and make them. - Madame C.J. Walker
Goals Completed: 16
Goals in Progress: 27
Since my last post, Steph had to go to Sun River for work, so I tagged along. I had a 7-mile geocaching hike, found a geocache from February 2001 (#84), visited the High Desert Museum, and finished and restarted our McMenamin’s Passports (supplemental goals). I started a geocaching ‘streak’ (finding at least one geocache a day), and I’m hunting the 35MM series (#103) when I can. I’ve found a lot of the caches near my office, and also acquired three FTFs. We also went on another weekend to Geocaching HQ in Seattle, the Mecca of Geocaching, and completed the GCHQ GeoTour of a lot of neat geocaches around the Freemont area. There has also been working another weekend as a Ranger for Seacompression, the decompression party in Seattle, and then the comradery of Ranger Thanksgiving.
We also went to the McMennamin’s Kennedy School to view Unprepared, a documentary on both Portland and Oregon’s overall preparedness and probability for a 9.0 earthquake, with the people who both participated in the documentary and wrote Oregon’s Resiliency Plan having a panel discussion afterward. As a result, I’ve been prioritizing organizing #3 (#69) for a 30-minute deployment, and considering moving her to Portland for both better staging in case of an emergency and also to reduce our commute on work days.
I’ve managed to train (#01, #10) for a few two Tai Chi two-hour classes, and I’ve trained a two-hour Tang Soo Do class with some people who have moved to Portland from my old dojang. There’s been some practice with the Iron Fan and some beginning escrima work. I’m back to working on rehabilitating my bicep by joining a gym. I’m also getting back into running on a treadmill (#05).
Not much direct progress since my last post.
