Goals/Life Update - Day 713/1001
Jun. 13th, 2016 10:25 am“The highest reward for a man's toil is not what he gets by it but what he becomes by it.” – John Ruskin
Goals Completed: 21
Goals in Progress: 27
Life continues to happen since my last update, a month ago. *smile* Most of my personal life has changed, yet again. I’ve not kept up weekly with formal training (#01, #10) but I have gotten a few days training in. I have, for the most part, continued to eat more mindfully (#14). I’m still working on creating an exercise regimen that I can do every day that allows for more rehab of my arm and shoulder, and it’s healed - but I’m still missing muscle mass.
I’ve relocated, and I’m now living in Ol’ Number 3 in a place a bit closer to work. I’m busy organizing and working out living in a much smaller place, and continuing to purge possessions and living a simpler life. I’ll redeploy (#69) even closer to my work once the season allows for semi-permanent RV camping in Portland.
Today I will be entering a Zen Monastery for a week (#21), and I will have very little communication with the outside world until Sunday the 19th. I may still be engaging in a Puja (#13) this summer, although there’s still a few issues that need to be worked out. I have written May’s haiku, but I haven’t yet written June’s haiku (#19). I’m still reading Grossman’s On Combat (#18), digesting a lot of useful information.
I’ve reevaluated my career options, and I’m looking at moving forward with licensure as a clinical psychologist, and clinical supervision options (#42). I’ve renewed my CPR/BPLS (#46) this month at the Red Cross Disaster Academy, completing that goal.
I continue to hunt and find the oldest remaining geocaches in Oregon (#84), and I only have three geocaches left to complete the geocaching Finds by Hidden Month matrix. I attended SOAK (#92), camping for the weekend and working as a Ranger and as a Fire Team Lieutenant, running a fire attack line for both the Effigy and Temple Burns. I got some good practice directing a team and attacking fire runs, and some practice with the fire pike.
I’ll update this list again after I get back from the monastery.
