You can't solve a problem on the same level that it was created. You have to rise above it to the next level. - Albert Einstein
Goals Completed: 12
Goals in Progress: 37
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I'm struggling to get back to the gym; other things have out-prioritized my motivation for fitness. I can tell that I've lost some mass and strength. I'll be adjusting and adding to my baselines soon. I managed to train once for two hours last week, and I can tell that I've lost some technique and power, too. After watching Carla and a lot of firefighters run the Fight for Air Stair Climb Race, I'm going to run it myself next year - in my turnouts. That goal fills the last of the blanks for the Body section.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: The Five Precepts ceremony will happen in March, and I still have to sew my wagessa. A consistently good sleeping practice hasn't happened consistently for a while. I have not eaten meat for almost two weeks to see if that affects my lab results with my cholesterol. I have lost a bit of weight. No progress with formal meditation, no haiku, and little formal reading. I've not had good focus. *sigh*
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: My only progress has been continuing to attend the CHIP program, ending March 1st. It has interfered with fitness, training and with my firefighter service, but I am committed to finishing the program and completing that goal.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: Ol' Number 3 continues to be more and more organized - but slowly. I have completed Winter Fire School, a difficult but very educational two-day class on vehicle extrication. We had a smaller and more intensive class, with more hands-on practice and evolutions with hydraulic spreaders and cutters and hand tools, taught by the best instructors on Oregon. I still need to spend more time at the fire station. I have started creating a mass casualty bag for 'Ol Number 3. The Whorse is starting to get some minor rehab/resupply work done.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: I had two enjoyable evenings: the first with Carla enjoying the Deli Llama Orchestra at Heart of Wisdom Zen Temple (a Celtic harp, a guitar, and singing bowls), and the second with Mantis at the Oregon Symphony (Tchaikovsky's Pathetique) at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Very different performances but both excellent!
