"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." - Johnny Cash

Goals Completed: 13
Goals in Progress: 37

Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I'm still struggling to get back to the gym. I am working on it. I'm planning on adjusting my baseline, probably at work next week. I have managed to train for a few classes the last two weeks, and I'm working on regaining some of my lost technique and power, too. I have missed moving my body in a meditative and formal martial fashion.

Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: The Five Precepts ceremony was completed, and I finished sewing my wagessa just in the nick of time, thanks to Carla. I still do not have a consistent good sleeping practice, but I have continued and improved my mindful eating practice. I have not eaten meat for almost a month, after finding out from the CHIP outcome lab work that all of the lab results with my cholesterol were significantly better. I'm not going to be a militant vegan, I promise! *smile* I'm just going to have more days without meat than with meat. I continue to lose weight slowly and healthily. Still no progress with haiku, and little formal reading.

Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: My only completed goal with this update progress has been finishing the CHIP program. Although it slowed other goals, it did pay off with better overall health and much more appreciation for plant-based foods and lifestyle choices.

In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: Ol' Number 3 still continues to be more and more organized. I'm selling the 4000W generator to make more space in the Command Center, and little areas in the bus are being cleaned out and organized. I'm still researching solar panels and a better ham radio antenna. I have been spending more time at the fire station, and it looks very probable that I will soon be an Intern at the department - which means that the department will pay for most of my advanced medical training, as well as formal education and skills training for my Firefighter certification, in exchange for taking a full 48-hour shift weekly that won't conflict with my mental health practice.

Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: I again had two enjoyable evenings: the first with Carla enjoying the March Forth Marching Band show at the Crystal Ballroom for their end-of-tour performance, and the second with Mantis listening to Hammerhead at Oneil's Public House (a great Irish band in a great Irish bar). This weekend I plan on going for a good geocaching hike with Carla.
