April 2018 101/1001 List Update
Apr. 17th, 2018 09:13 amIt's not who we are that holds us back, it's who we think we're not. - Michael Nolan
Goals Completed: 15
Goals in Progress: 35
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: My arms are mostly recovered, and I hope to get to the gym this week. Our Spartan Team has signed up for a Spartan Training Workout in May, and I'm running the Rugged Maniac 5K at the end of May. I'm back into training mode.
EDIT: I went to the gym last night, and did some treadmill sprints and a basic strength workout. I had to reset all of my baselines, and I struggled with even lighter weights. Got to fix that. *smile*
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm back to paying attention to my food intake and my sleep. Finally back to inspiration for haiku.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: Paid my taxes and renewing my health insurance, doing all the 'adulty' things. Checked my credit score.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I'm continuing my Intern shifts at the station next week. I ended up taking only three credits of fire-related classes, all online, because of the timing of registration. Next term will be much more and better. I'm knocking out a lot of my taskbook for certification for my Firefighter 1 certification. I'm signed up for the Red Cross Disaster Academy in May.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: I spent a weekend near Bend, Oregon with Carla hunting either old geocaches, or geocaches that had the difficulty/terrain combinations we needed to work on out Fizzy and Jasmer Challenges. The hikes and camping completed my goal of 20 short-term hiking/camping trips.
Overdue Hiaku
practice and classes
simulation and watching
real training: doing
old, rarely found
off-roading geocaches
worth the effort
making time to
move forward, no distractions
saving energy
