Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I completed the GoRuck January Seek Pain Challenge, and I've started on the GoRuck February Challenge. In nine days, I have completed all of the rucking requirements (four 5-mile rucks) for that challenge, but I still have to complete the workout, complete the additional tasking (write and send four hand-written letters), and read the book A Warrior’s Creed, by Roger Sparks. Thanks to the USPS, I still haven't received January's challenge patch for my ruck. *wry smile* I'm still doing three sets of 50 pushups a day, and I've added two sets of 10 burpees daily to train for the workout.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I'm still training mindfulness with my eating patterns. I continue to meditate daily this month. I've finished Silence in the Age of Noise, by Erling Kagge, the Norwegian explorer and the first person to reach the South alone. More Haiku.
Medical issues with The Old Man continue but have improved; his incisions are healing well and pain levels were very low, and we have a follow-up appointment this week. My time in The Staging Area is ending within a bit more than two weeks, and I am transitioning my gear out and elsewhere, and moving in for a while with Faye.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: My daily driver was the victim of an early morning hit-and-run accident and it's totaled. *sigh* I'll be keeping her and making her temporarily driveable for a couple of weeks while I acquire another daily driver. No progress on The Whorse, but a pinched wire was what caused the vehicle fire.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I'm still doing a weekly 3-hour comprehensive EMT refresher online. I was administered my second COVID-19 vaccination, with a day or so of sapped energy and wooziness afterward, but now I'm back to my usual self.
Base Station/Ol' Number 3: Someone wiped out the mailbox with their car. No note left, of course. *another sigh* The Gate House has had a thorough cleaning, and moving The Old Man's stuff from storage has already started. The Pump House has had construction materials delivered.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: One of my five-mile rucks was hiking/geocaching Powell Butte with Faye, masked and socially distant from the other people on the trail. I'm continuing and restarting another two-week quarantine after The Old Man's follow-up appointment this week. I hope to complete the Geocaching Finds by Found Date goal next week.
