When the breath is unsteady, all is unsteady; when the breath is still; all is still. Control the breath carefully. Inhalation gives strength and a controlled body; retention gives steadiness of mind and longevity; exhalation purifies body and spirit. — Goraksasathakam

Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I've worked up to 150 daily pushups, in three sets. Some sets are still easier than others. I'm still experimenting with push-up bars, and I can do 20 pushups a set, with about the same effort as a set of 50 regular pushups. I've again trained three more Qigong/Tai Chi classes this week, staying masked.

Although we still have the bonus WOD left to do, the April 'Breathe' Challenge has dropped a day early. The Workout is the “Piestewa” WOD, which is 6 Rounds of a 400m Ruck and 7 “Double Push-Up” Get Ups with Ruck, holding water in your mouth throughout the entire workout like the Apache Run. Lori Piestewa was the first Native American woman KIA, ambushed in the attack where Jessica Lynch was taken POW. Her surname is derived from a Hopi language root meaning "water pooled on the desert by a hard rain"; thus, Piestewa (Hopi: [piˈɛstɛwa]) translates loosely as "the people who live by the water. The rucking requirement is 3 1-mile “Apache” rucks, which is, "[h]old a mouth full of water and breathe only through your nose. If you swallow the water, start the ruck over or treat yourself to 1,000 burpees", as well as rucking one 12-miler ruck. The additional tasking is to "dedicate 5 minutes a day to a breathing practice/meditative/box breathing technique", and the book is Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art by James Nestor.

Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I've finished My Name Is Bill: Bill Wilson--His Life and the Creation of Alcoholics Anonymous by Susan Cheever, and started Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior by Chögyam Trungpa, from my permanent library. I've finished meditation for the month of March, and I'm continuing my daily meditation for the month of April, which exceeds the GoRuck Challenge requirement.

New words: Nope.

Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: We completed the AHA CPR/BLS For Healthcare Providers class, completing a goal and meeting my last annual Firefighter requirement for the year.

In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I have completed the first and second classes of the Community Health Paramedicine course, MIH Course Orientation/Intro to Community Paramedicine/Safety and MIH Professional Boundaries/Patient Interactions. MIH stands for Mobile Integrated Healthcare.

Base Station/Ol' Number 3: We've installed a secure mailbox in a better location than the original mailbox, and a secure package/deliveries box has been built but not installed. Ol' Number 3's curtains are in progress.

Adventure/Doing Stuff: Roadtrip this weekend!
