101/1001 Update
May. 1st, 2022 11:23 pmCAN Report: Conditions, Actions, Needs - The conditions you encountered on arrival, the actions you are taking and what other resources you are going to need to bring situation under control.
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I'm holding at 200 mostly daily pushups, in four sets. I'm still continuing an extra set of max reps with the pushup bars, and I've also added two sets of 20 forearm grippers, on workdays. I've again trained in three more Qigong/Tai Chi classes this week, staying masked.
There's been little progress on this month's GoRuck Challenge. We still have this month's WOD, and last month's bonus WOD, to complete - and I also have the book to read, which arrived at Base Station but because I left it unsecured - it was stolen/lost, and I've reordered it. The meditation/breathing practice was completed, though.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I've finished Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior by Chögyam Trungpa, from my permanent library. I'm still reading Moving To Higher Ground: How Jazz Can Change Your Life by Wynton Marsalis with Geoffrey C. Ward, and I've started The Chinese Martial Code: The Art of War of Sun Tzu, The Precepts of War by Sima Rangju, Wu Zi on the Art of War by A. L. Sadler. We have completed the GoRuck 'Breathe' Challenge additional tasking, a daily breathing and meditative practice, and my daily meditation for the month of April. I'm going to keep up the daily practice for May.
New words: Nope.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: No progress.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I have completed two more classes of the Community Health Paramedicine course, MIH Laboratory Values and Diagnostic Studies and MIH Plan of Care and Chronic Disease Management Part 1.
Base Station/Ol' Number 3: I'm awaiting the inspection report for the electrical and mechanical permits. I've started to work on the septic system plan.
Adventure/Doing Stuff: Faye had gotten free tickets to the Portland Art Museum to see the Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Mexican Modernism exhibit from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection. It was a good exhibit, but I was expecting more of Frida Kahlo's art. I also left for the weekend to go train at Safety Northwest, the training weekend for all of the SOAK Regional Burn Volunteers. We practiced radio protocols, ICS scenarios, and I helped teach most of the Fire Attack Line training. We all worked hard to shake the rust off since 2019, the last SOAK Event.
