First January 2018 101/1001 Update
Jan. 1st, 2018 01:19 amReflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some. - Charles Dickens
Goals Completed: 12
Goals in Progress: 36
Body: No real progress. I have again been to the gym twice this week, and I'm still working on treadmill sprints. I found that I can currently lift 135 lbs. on the bench press for one rep. I'll be testing pushups, situps, chinups, and burpees baselines soon.
Mind: The only progress is been that I have managed to continue my mindful eating practice. I was not able to coordinate my schedule for a week at the monastery or three days of silence. I did attend a New Years Ceremony at the Temple, and I participated in an atonement and renewal ceremony that renewed my motivation and focus. Haiku!
Maintenance: I had a dental appointment, and got my teeth cleaned. No cavities!
Zombies: Nothing, although Ol' Number 3 keeps getting less cluttered every week.
Adventure: Some friends weren't able to use their tickets, so Pepper and I got to see Evanescence, backed by a full orchestra. Not often you get to see a gothic rock band paired with an orchestra in Portland's best Concert Hall! I also got to see the Harlem Globetrotters, since I was on the fundraising team for the show and passed a donation bucket at half-time. I haven't seen them since I was a child. *smile* Two performances in two weeks - although very different experiences.
being open to
different performances,
creates new meaning
to end a thing
makes openings for more
breathe and finish
May this new year
bright, full of expectations
open new purpose
