The October 2018 101/1001 Update
Oct. 25th, 2018 10:36 am"A child can teach an adult three things: to be happy for no reason, to always be busy with something, and to know how to demand with all his might that which he desires." - Paulo Coelho

It is my birthday month - and I had gotten two nights in a hotel for free, so I used some of that time to reflect on my life and on my current choices and my 101 list, as well as get in some self-care. *smile* I'm doing a lot of self-reflection right now about choices and priorities and what's really important.
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I attended my old Tai Chi class for two double classes this month, and really enjoyed it. I still had some muscle memory after being gone for about six months, and I needed the stretching and the gentle movement. I really need to find another martial arts school. I really need to get back into the gym. I have gotten a couple of chances to work out, and a chance to run - and I've lost a step in my strength and endurance. I'll be prioritizing getting that back.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I sat zazen as a makeup for September, on my birthday. I also sat zazen this past week, to catch up. I'm still working on my food intake and my sleep, and considering another fast. I'm spending some time thinking about relationships and what I'd like to manifest in my life.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: No progress.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I will likely be relocating Ol' Number 3 in the Spring, and I'm already starting to secure her for travel. I'd like to buy some land and have a place to park Ol' Number 3 where no one has any say about her, and I don't have to pay someone else rent. I started my EMT classes and should be testing for EMT certification in the Spring. EMT classes, firefighting, and my practice are taking almost all of my time; I have my midterm exam this upcoming Monday. I'm also part of the latest Firefighter Academy and making good progress on my Firefighter I certification taskbook. I also managed to shoe-horn in ICS 400, an advanced complex incident management course.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: Pepper and I met up with Amazon, who came up from Arizona, in Alturas to see her new property, and we had an end-of-summer geocaching expedition. We found two more of the 50 oldest geocaches in Oregon, and I found one more month of Finds By Hidden Month (Jasmer); I only have one more month left to finish that goal. It was a great weekend and a memorable adventure before I settle down into Fall and Winter studies. I also found one of the six difficulty/terrain combinations I have left to finish mt second Fizzy Challenge.
During Winter break, I will be traveling to Texas for family matters.
