The Third July 2019 101/1001 Update
Jul. 24th, 2019 09:38 pmIn three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on. - Robert Frost
Goals Completed: 37/108
Goals in Progress: 23
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I have hit the gym this almost every day before my Montana roadtrip, and I've certainly been climbing hills and hiking some pretty severe terrain. Look for my pushups, situps, and burpee numbers to increase as I work on more arm and core strength next week. Literally just before we left for Montana, we ran a fun 5K.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I am still scheduling time, even on the roadtrip to meditate daily for this month, which will complete another goal. I have sat formal Zazen for the month. I am reading a book in my permanent library, Budoshinsho, and a new book, Smokejumper. I am almost ready to fast again.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: I'm scheduled for my dental checkup at the end of the month.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: At Base Station, I have a friend coming to cut down those old fire-damaged trees before I move Ol' Number 3 into position. Progress has been made on the foundation of the garage pad, where the GateHouse will go.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: I'm currently with Pepper's family on a road trip to Northern Montana for Pepper's family to scatter some ashes, which happened today at the House of Mystery Vortex. On the way there, we found two of the oldest geocaches in Oregon, three of the oldest geocaches that still remain in the world (one of which was the oldest geocache in Idaho), several of the oldest geocaches in Idaho, and the oldest geocache and several of the oldest in Montana. I also got to explore the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula, completing a goal. I also got to explore the Nez Perce National Park and scored a Junior Ranger badge, completing yet another goal. We also got to soak at Nimrod Warm Springs. *smile* Tomorrow we are going to Glacier National Park, and hunting at least one more Montana oldie geocache.
EDIT: We went to Glacier, and we went to the Smokejumper Center in Missoula, we found three oldie geocaches, and we went to Jerry Johnson Hot Springs on our way home. *smile*
I've still not yet made a decision about Burning Man yet this year, although I'm leaning toward not going. Vehicle repair expenses, and making progress on Base Station, and the time involved, and possible family concerns will likely rule out this year's Burn.
