101/1001 Update
May. 21st, 2020 11:24 am“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” — Nelson Mandela
Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: I'm now at 30 consecutive pushups and 50 crunches, although I'm changing my exercise program to the 20 bodyweight/Crossfit exercises I'll need to perform for the Spartan Race. I'm still taking long walks in the neighborhood on days that I'm not running. I will be running the virtual Spartan Race at the end of May and the virtual Rugged Maniac race in early June.
Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I've finished reading The Art of Peace, and also the Book of Five Rings by Musashi. I'm still training mindfulness with my eating patterns and maintaining a 2000-calorie (or less) a day dietary intake. I'm still taking Epidemics, Pandemics, and Outbreaks; I'll likely finish my college course this week, completing another 101 goal.
Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: No progress.
In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I am still utilizing the ReadyMan Plan2Survive Program. I completed ISDMP370 Disaster Recovery Awareness, a FEMA Disaster Education class. I am halfway through the 2020 Red Cross Cascades Virtual Disaster Academy this year, and I have already completed one 101 goal, and I'm on track for two more. I have completed the training requirements for Disaster Mental Health. I have interviewed successfully for application for Disaster Health Services (as an EMT, I qualify). I've also completed a wildland firefighting scenario with multiple fire departments and got some great practice with fire attack and suppression as well as wildland progressive hose lays, last weekend. I'm still scheduled for a structural fire training (a 'Burn to Learn') with the fire department at the end of this month.
Base Station/Ol' Number 3: No progress. Rain, the COVID-19 pandemic, and less money coming into my practice have caused delays.
Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: I found two geocaches for one of the two days I need for my Found by Found Date Stats.
