“The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.” ― Confucius, The Analects

Body/Martial Arts/Physical Improvement/Testing Myself: We've kept up with the daily 2-mile ruck requirement, mostly at night, hitting all of the local Free Libraries, with one double-ruck day. If you miss a day, you must make it up with a 10-mile ruck, and we are not about to let that happen. Some days, we're out at 11 pm slowly and painfully knocking that two-mile ruck out. We should finish on Armed Forces Day.

This week I also started doing a set of 33 burpees, and as I was finishing with that, I thought, "how far can I go before I die?" and kept going. When I was in my early 60s, I thought, "Dude! You're almost there!" and kept going. When I got to 88, and my arms were falling off and I got a mild nosebleed, I stuffed a kleenex and kept going - and finished 100 consecutive burpees. I blame my slightly overcaffeinated state and a string of good motivational songs on Pandora. *grin* I'm also still doing 3 x 50 pushups to the APFT standard, working on the next goal of 100 pushups.

Mind/Spirit/Centering/Health: I completed my mindful eating practice goal this week. I'm still slowly reading Meditations 4, by Thanissaro Bhikkhu (Geoffery Degraff). I'm also still rereading The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by Don Miguel Ruiz.

Maintenance/Shit Got To Be Done: I completed a 3-hour CEU (for next year's LPC recertification) this week on trauma-informed care and treatment. This week is The Old Man's follow-up appointment.

In Case of Zombies/Disaster Preparation: I'm still doing the weekly triple 3-hour comprehensive EMT refresher series online. This week: Toxicology, OB/Neonatal, and Pediatrics.

Base Station/Ol' Number 3: We transported a heavy, wooden desk from Portland to Base Station for the Old Man with my trailer while we were getting sheeting and electrical parts for the Pump House. The sheeting will cover the insulation in the Pump House, and it's easier to install the sheeting before the pump installation, while we can still move around the water tank. The Old Man now has a small wooden bench by the front door to sit outside with Alfie. We were supposed to have an electrician out for the Pump House this weekend, but a work emergency on his part meant that he was a no-show. All of the electrical parts and the sheeting are now up the hill in the Pump House, for when he can make it.

Since we didn't have an electrician, we worked on the RV dump line. We were finally able to backfill+ the first 30 feet for the line from the RV drain pipe to the first 90-degree bend, making adding fresh water to the RV a lot easier - so, we added 20 gallons of fresh water and drained the black and grey tanks. We still have about 60 feet of line to dig out and lay at the proper gradient, past the Gate House to the septic tank. No progress on eliminating more of the slash pile on a permitted burn day and clearing more of the 'living room'/party/visitor/sitting space. We're also starting to get some of the antenna parts (including the rotor) to get going on raising the HAM antenna.

Travel/Adventure/Doing Stuff: Faye and I will be housesitting at the River House this week, taking care of a wonderful older dog named Bailey. Sitting right on the Willamette River, we'll be rucking and geocaching in Champoeg State Park.
